Dear friends and plant lovers,
We would like to cordially invite you to the traditional Exhibition of succulents and other exotic plants, which will take place from September 12 to 19, 2025, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the greenhouses of the Botanical Garden of the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno. This is the 24th edition of this exhibition, which we organize in cooperation with specialized growers and the Faculty of Agronomy of Mendel University.
This year's theme is "Camouflage of Succulents." Visitors can look forward to a colorful display of plants that have perfectly adapted to their natural environment and often remain hidden from predators and inattentive observers. Experienced growers will be present at the exhibition throughout the week to offer advice on growing and caring for these unique plants.
This year, we are paying special attention to a newly described species of dwarf succulent spurge, Euphorbia aenigmatica, native to Somalia. This extremely inconspicuous but scientifically significant species will be presented to the public for the first time at our exhibition. One of the co-authors of the scientific description is botanist Pavel Hanáček from Mendel University, who will be present throughout the exhibition and will be happy to answer any questions visitors may have, not only about this species, but also about other succulent plants.
The basic admission fee for the exhibition is 160 Kč, reduced admission is 80 Kč, and children under 6 years of age are admitted free of charge.
