We are proud holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award

What does the HR Excellence in Research Award mean?

The HR Excellence in Research Award is a recognition granted by the European Commission to research institutions that have successfully aligned their HR strategy with the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R), thereby committing to creating a fair, motivating, and high-quality working environment for researchers.

It is not just a label – it is proof that our institution:

  • Emphasises equal opportunities and ethical research principles

  • Promotes transparency in recruitment procedures

  • Ensures quality working conditions

  • Supports the professional development and training of researchers

The HR Excellence in Research initiative is based on the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

The Charter rests on four pillars:

Ethics, Integrity, Gender and Open Science

Until 2022, the HR strategy of the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University was supported by a national project entitled “Strategic Management Development of a Research Organisation in Line with the Requirements for the HR Award”. This initiative was part of the five-year OP VVV project “Human Resources Development and Internationalization of Research at MU” (HR4MU), co-funded by the European Union.

At Masaryk University, based on an exemption granted by the European Commission, the HR Excellence in Research Award is held by all faculties, as well as CEITEC and the Institute of Computer Science. These units are defined in the Statutes of Masaryk University as constituent parts that form the university (Statutes of MU, Part Four, Organisational Structure of MU, Article 14 Constituent Parts Statutes MU | Masaryk University). More information is available on the website: HR Award | Masaryk University.
